Sign 5 of 12

Dragon

Honour, authority, power, leadership.

Your birth date gives your sign, your numbers and your best dates.

What it is

The 5th sign, and the only mythological one. Its 5 adds entertainment and sexual energy.

Dragon years add up to 11, 5 or 8.

Its hours each day: 7 am to 9 am.

As a person

Honour comes first: when a Dragon promises, it delivers. No sign is more honourable.

Commands without trying, and gains followers that others never could.

The strongest sign overall, with a tough body that lasts.

Not a deep thinker. To steer a Dragon, hint at an idea and let it arrive there alone.

As a year

You are a Dragon if you were born in one of these spans:

  • 23 Jan 1928 to 9 Feb 1929
  • 8 Feb 1940 to 26 Jan 1941
  • 27 Jan 1952 to 13 Feb 1953
  • 13 Feb 1964 to 1 Feb 1965
  • 31 Jan 1976 to 17 Feb 1977
  • 17 Feb 1988 to 5 Feb 1989
  • 5 Feb 2000 to 23 Jan 2001
  • 23 Jan 2012 to 9 Feb 2013
  • 10 Feb 2024 to 28 Jan 2025

Each span runs from one Chinese New Year to the day before the next. New Year falls between 21 January and 20 February, so a birth date before 21 February can belong to the sign before.

Good for Dragons, Monkeys and Rats.

The enemy year of every Dog.

Next Dragon years: 28 Jan 2036 to 14 Feb 2037; 14 Feb 2048 to 1 Feb 2049; 2 Feb 2060 to 20 Jan 2061.

As a month

The Dragon month runs 7 Apr to 6 May each year. Anyone born in it carries a smaller dose of the Dragon. It is the enemy month for everyone born in the Dog month.

Friends and enemy

Friends: Rat and Monkey, the other two corners of its triangle. Inside this triangle the Dragon gets on better with the Monkey than with the Rat.

Enemy: Dog, straight across the wheel. For a Dragon, Dog years are for holding back. The Dog month is a lesser caution, unless the Dragon was born in a Tiger, Horse or Dog month. For a Dragon born in the Dragon month it is the full enemy month: hold big starts in it.

No soulmate sign. The method names one soulmate pair only: Rat and Ox.
